We are looking for Network Engineer, Corporate Networks to Group IT. Uponor IT employs about 100 IT professionals. Uponor IT network covers about 70 sites in 26 countries in two continents. You will be working in an international team and having collaboration and support of other IT Infrastructure specialist and IT Infra Architect located in Europe and USA.
As a manufacturing company we have a truly interesting and versatile selection of different types of locations from a sales office to large factories and warehouses in Europe and North America, which have different networking needs and in all IT network is a highly critical service.
The position could be based either in Helsinki (Finland), Hassfurt, Germany or Apple Valley, MN. USA. Naturally with option of working partly remotely also. The Network Engineer reports to Manager, IT Infrastructure Services.
What will you be doing?
Our key network services include Global SDWAN Network, LAN Networking, Wireless Networking including own WLAN Controllers and Access Points, Cloud networks in OCI, AWS and Azure, Employee Remote access management, Firewall Management, Network Monitoring etc. for Uponor Corporation globally.
Corporate Network Engineer installs, updates and administrates IT networking systems and services for Uponor globally.
This is also a hands-on specialist role so you should be familiar with command line configurations and physical device installations on our sites. Additionally, you will plan and develop future networks for Uponor. One part or the work is also working with our network service providers. With today’s increasing cyber security threats, ensuring that our network is up-to-date and secure is one key part of the work.
What will you need?
We are seeking a person with strong IT networking skills in LAN, WLAN, SDWAN networking, Firewall management and secure remote access management (VPN, MS AlwaysOn VPN). At least few years of experience working in corporate or operator networking is required as well as understanding of IP and name services like DNS, DHCP. You need to be able to take care of configuration details and be able to plan networking concepts and setups in general. Experience working with public cloud networking Azure and AWS is expected. Oracle cloud knowledge is considered as a bonus.
You can be a senior specialist already but that is not mandatory. You don’t have to be master of all networking technologies or public clouds at this point, but you should already have solid baseline knowledge of most technologies. Most important is willingness and ability to learn, develop oneself further and to work with people to ensure service excellence to our businesses globally. Ideal candidate has M.Sc. or B.Sc. in network engineering or in another relevant technical field.
Working language is English and some international travelling will be part of the job.
